Archive Collection White Outline Hoodie
This black classic pullover sweatshirt features a drawstring hood and kangaroo pocket.
The white stitched logo outline is simply a modern take on the original 1929 logo. Although the more modern designs for the Blackhawks jersey feature a wide-array of colors, the original scheme when the franchise was born in 1926 relied on basic black and white. That included the famous logo.
The Indian head is emblematic of Black Hawk, the Sauk Indian leader who defended the Sauk and Fox lands along the Rock River in Illinois. The logo has come to represent perseverance, tenacity and courage, all characteristics of the team that shares the famous Sauk leader's name.
Modifications to the Indian Head itself have been made from year to year, such as changing the colors of the feathers or slight altering of the facial expression. But for the most part, the icon has remained the same as it was in the beginning.
The stitched wordmark appears on the left sleeve in Blackletter, which is an Old English typeface. The typeface has been popular for decades, often associated with beer labels, heavy metal bands, and rap music. It has also been closely associated with newspaper mastheads, such as the Chicago Tribune.
